Flying Fish 1860
Facts: L=745 mm, W=110 mm, H=585 mm. Scale 1:50
This schooner was designed by the Jeremiah Burham a well known shipbuilder, the ship was launched 1860 in Essex, Massachusetts, US.
The vessel was one of the fastest fishing ship at that time.
Kit manufactured by Corel
This is my very first wooden kit. The kit itself gave me a lot of fun to build due a lot of to learn and items that you needs to build yourself instead of pressing out a laser cut pieces and just glue them together.
After a while I found errors in the blueprints and lacking instructions also sorry to say some missing items and items that was there but should not be on the ship. Corel also constructed this kit a little after own thinking so it is not a true copy of Flying fish, but still I had a good time building it.
Maybe this kit is not for the first time builder.
Note as this kit still is for sale from Corel: This kit was purchased 15 years ago and may have changed since then.
